Arrived at TheNextWeb, Amsterdam NL

I am one of this year’s featured speakers at TheNextWeb, and have just arrived at the conference. It is huge, as always, and packed with interesting people.

My gig is tomorrow — I’ll be debating Alexander Bard in a panel moderated by Andrew Keen, discussing the changing concept of privacy. The people here are energetic and entrepreneurial, laptops everywhere, and for the first time I’ve seen this a long while, network cables are available for the people in the audience who want faster connections than the shared wifi.

There aren’t many suits and ties in the audience. I count one (1) tie in total. Formality is slipping in favor of entrepreneurship.

The presentations I’m looking most forward to today are “How losing 650 million taught me the secret to happiness and success” by Mark Randall and “Shoot for the Moon” by Tammy Camp.

(Footnote: Yes, my posting frequency is still low. It will continue to be low for a while until I have recovered.)
